Are constant feelings of stress and burn out getting you down?

Wellbeing, energy, health, vitality are all available to us when our mind body and spirit are aligned; quite simply this means when we feel empowered and in control of life we feel great. When life feels good we have empowered thoughts, we give ourself what we need to feel healthy and vital and we trust ourself to follow our instincts and make the changes we need to feel happy.

Conversely when we feel overwhelmed or we feel we are burning out; feelings of losing control stimulate and compound negative thinking. This begins to agitate the nervous system which in turn depletes our energy and self belief.

When stress takes over our existence becomes about survival. When we are in a state of fight or flight, we struggle to meet our own needs and begin to feel overwhelmed by making even minor changes.

Keynote speaker and TV presenter Dawn Breslin – Dawn was GMTV’s original Life and Confidence Coach. In 2012 at the height of her red carpet career, her life was derailed. In a series of unavoidable and unfortunate life events – she was left emotionally, energetically and financially bankrupt – her menopause came early, along with adrenal fatigue, burnout and energetic depletion. Unable to work for 2 years, she was able to draw on her own life coaching experience and intuitively creating her Harmonising Alignment process, she was able to completely turn her life around – going from place of energetically rock bottom to one of vibrant health, balance and radiant wellbeing.

Dawn’s knowledge in the field has grown from her practical experience of post-natal depression, early menopause and extreme emotional, financial and energetic burnout, plus twenty years of consistent study and practice in the field of human potential.

Dawn is now dedicated to helping others align their confidence, self-esteem, life vision and energy through her Harmonizing Alignment Process.

So how do we begin to reverse the cycle and take back control, Dawn explains?

  1. Self Compassion involves treating ourselves kindly as we would treat another when we are in difficulty. Could you ask for support. How can you find a way to offload the weight you are carrying? Perhaps you could delegate some work. Ask for a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed to prioritise your to do list each day. If it’s possible engage a wellbeing coach to create some accountability to make changes.
  1. We only have a limited amount of energy each day, it’s important to ensure that this energy is preserved when we are stressed. Ask yourself what’s draining you right now. Who are you supporting or holding up? Who is sharing their problems with you? What or who is draining you at home or work? What do you need to attend to or let go to have less stress in your life?
  1. Living out of alignment with our deepest truth and our core values creates an imbalance in our system. Listen closely to your intuition, your deepest truth. As yourself what would you love to do would do or what you would change if you were not afraid? Would you change jobs, work part-time, do something more meaningful? If you had more confidence would you embark upon the change?
  1. You can begin to feel better by giving yourself more of what you need. Ask yourself which feelings you would like to feel each day. You may crave feelings of peace, calm, ease, creativity flow….. write down three words and then ask yourself how you could begin to weave these words into your day. For example if you crave feelings of peace you might choose to work in a quiet room at work, do a mindfulness app before sleep, walk in nature at lunchtime or take time to walk on a beach at the weekend. With each of your 3 make lists of how you could integrate them into work or your home life to make you feel better.
  1. Create a nourishing bedtime routine. Create space, wind down towards bedtime. Digitally detox, take a long hot bath, read if you can, keep devices out of the bedroom. Set a time for bed and work with everyone to keep to it.
