CEOs: What Could They Have Earned In Their Parents' Careers?

WEBINARS
  • Mark Zuckerberg could have pursued a career in psychiatry, earning the highest salary of over £190,000 ($241,000)
  • Elon Musk might have become a dietitian, earning £49,000 ( $62,000)
  • Richard Branson may have become a Barrister (Lawyer) or a Flight Attendant, earning £34,000
A new study has named Mark Zuckerberg as the CEO with the highest earnings potential from following in his parent’s footsteps. The analysis by KingCasinoBonus.com looked at the parental professions of top CEOs to determine which professionals might earn the most if they had followed the parents' career path instead of their own. To do this, they analyzed the earnings of both parents and focused on the highest-earning parent to determine average salaries. The findings offer a unique perspective on how different their lives could have been. Ranking first, Mark Zuckerberg has the potential to earn the most by following in his mother, Karen’s, footsteps as a psychiatrist in White Plains, New York, where the annual salary is £190,871 ($241,726). This is a highly lucrative profession, making it the highest earning potential on our list. Had he not followed in his mothers footsteps, he may still have been top of the list. His father, Edward, is a dentist, a profession which has an average salary of £160,887 ($203,753) in White Plains. Both salaries are more than double the average of £70,276 ($89,000) for the city. Bernard Arnault places second by following in his father Jean’s footsteps as a Construction Company President in Roubaix, France, where the average salary for this position is £126,786 (€149,348). This is around four times the average salary of £37,112 (€43,713) in Roubaix. His mother, Beatrice, was a Piano Teacher, and should Arnault have caught the music bug, he could expect to earn below the average salary, at £30,359 (€35,779). Third place is Warren Buffett, with a potential salary of £118,146 ($149,624). To achieve this, Buffet would have to follow in his father Howard Buffett’s footsteps as a Stockbroker in Omaha, Nebraska, where the average salary is £30,795 ($39,000). Bill Gates ranks fourth with a potential salary of £111,684 ($141,440). If Bill Gates hadn’t become the CEO of Microsoft and stayed in his hometown of Seattle, Washington, to follow in his father, Bill Gates Sr’s, footsteps, he could have become a Partner at a law firm and earned more than double the average salary of £54,484 ($69,000). Rounding up the fifth position is Steve Ballmer, with a potential salary of £109,858 ($139,128) in Detroit, Michigan. To achieve this figure, which is almost four times the average salary of £28,426 ($36,000) in Seattle, Ballmer would need to follow in her father, Frederick’s, footsteps as a manager at the Ford Motor Company. A spokesperson from KingCasinoBonus.com commented on the findings: “This study highlights the diverse backgrounds and potential career paths of some of the world's top CEOs. It’s interesting to see how their parents’ professions, many of which are respectable and well-compensated, differ vastly from the high-stakes business world their children excel in.”
